Visa processing timelines may vary as per public holidays observed in both India and your intended destination country.
1. Passport
Original passport issued within the last 10 years
Must be valid for at least 6 months beyond the intended departure date from Poland
Should have at least 2 blank visa pages
No alterations or handwritten amendments on data pages
2. Photograph
Three recent passport-size color photographs (35mm x 45mm, without border) taken within the last 3 months
Facial image must be 25mm to 35mm from chin to crown
Taken against a plain white background with a matt or semi-matt finish
Scanned or unclear photographs will not be accepted
3. Accommodation Proof (any one of the following)
Confirmed hotel reservation/voucher
Cruise confirmation voucher
If staying with friends or relatives:
Invitation letter from the host
Copy of invitee’s ID, passport, or residence permit
Financial documents of the invitee (email with colored scanned copies is acceptable)
4. Flight Ticket
Confirmed flight reservation (India to Poland & return)
5. Travel Itinerary
A day-wise itinerary outlining travel plans on A4-size paper
If booked through a travel agent, the itinerary must be on their official letterhead
6. Travel Insurance
Mandatory with minimum coverage of 30,000 Euros or 50,000 USD per person
Must cover:
Repatriation for medical reasons
Urgent medical attention
Emergency hospital treatmentMust be valid throughout the entire stay in Schengen territory
For applicants requesting a 6-month or 1-year multiple-entry visa, coverage for the first trip is sufficient
7. Proof of Sufficient Funds
Last 6 months’ bank statement (signed & attested by a bank official)
If sponsored, provide the sponsor’s bank statement instead
Bank statements must be dated within the last 1 week
8. Income Tax Returns (ITR)
Last 3 years' income tax returns
If sponsored, provide the sponsor’s ITR
9. Cover Letter
For employed applicants: Cover letter on A4-size paper
For self-employed applicants: Cover letter on official business letterhead
10. Employment Letter (if employed)
Must be on official company letterhead, stamped, and dated
Must include:
Company contact details (address, email, phone number)
Name, position, and signature of the signing officer
Applicant’s name, job title, salary, years of employment
Confirmation of approved leave and job position upon return
11. No Objection Certificate (NOC) (if applicable)
For students/minors: NOC from the school/institute + copy of school ID card
12. GST Certificate (for self-employed applicants)
Copy of GST registration certificate
13. Leave Letter (if employed)
Official leave approval letter from the employer
Copy of employment ID card
14. Biometric Data Submission (if applicable)
Indian citizens applying for a Schengen visa for the first time must submit biometric data in person
Children under 12 years are exempted
If biometric data was previously submitted after November 2, 2015, it remains valid for 59 months
In some cases, an applicant may be required to re-submit biometric data if requested by the consulate

Poland is one of the 27 Schengen countries.

Visa Application Guidelines
If traveling to multiple Schengen countries, Poland should be:
The country where you spend the longest duration, or
If staying in each country for equal duration, Poland must be your first point of entry into the Schengen Zone.All applicants must submit the mandatory documents listed in the requirements section.

Can I submit an e-statement for my visa application?
No, the bank statement must cover the last 6 months and be stamped and signed on each page by the bank. It should be printed on A4-size paper only.
Which countries are included in the Schengen visa?
A Schengen visa allows entry into all 27 Schengen states, including:
Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Croatia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland.Do I need confirmed flight and accommodation bookings for my Schengen visa application?
No, confirmed tickets and bookings are not mandatory before obtaining your visa. However, a holding reservation may be required. Shiva YSR, India's first E-Visa agency, can assist you with the necessary temporary bookings.
How long is biometric data valid for?
Schengen biometrics remain valid for 59 months across all Schengen countries. If you previously submitted biometrics, your visa will contain a VIS (Visa Information System) remark. However, some countries may still require re-submission. It is advisable to check with our E-Visa team before applying.
When should I apply for a Poland Tourist Visa?
You can apply for a Poland visa up to 6 months before your travel date but no later than 15 days before departure.
I only have ITR for the last two years. Can I still apply for a Schengen visa?
Although the last 3 years’ Income Tax Returns (ITR) are preferred, you can apply with ITR for the last 2 years, if required.
Can I travel to Poland with my old and new passport if my Schengen visa is on the old one?
If your valid Schengen visa is in your old passport, you must email your concern to the Polish Embassy. If the embassy validates your request, you can travel using both passports until the visa expires.
Is it necessary to submit the visa application in person?
Yes. Since November 2, 2015, all applicants must submit biometrics (fingerprints, palm print, live photo, etc.) in person at a Visa Facilitation Center (VFC), consulate, or embassy, depending on the country.
Is travel insurance mandatory for a Schengen visa?
Yes. Travel insurance is mandatory for all 27 Schengen countries. You can apply for travel insurance online before submitting your visa application.
