Passport
Original passport issued within the last 10 years
Valid for at least 6 months beyond the last intended departure date from Luxembourg
Must contain at least 2 blank visa pages
No alterations or handwritten amendments on data pages
Photograph
Three recent colored passport-size photos (35 mm x 45 mm)
The facial image must be between 25 mm and 35 mm from chin to crown
Taken within the last 3 months against a plain white background with a matt or semi-matt finish
Scanned or unclear photographs will not be accepted
Accommodation
The applicant must provide one of the following as proof of accommodation:
Confirmed hotel voucher
Cruise confirmation voucher
If staying with friends or relatives, an invitation letter along with the invitee's ID proof, passport/residence card copy, and financial documents (colored scanned copies via email are acceptable)
Flight Ticket
Confirmed flight reservation (India to Luxembourg and return)
Itinerary
A day-wise itinerary detailing travel plans on plain A4 paper
If booked through a travel agent, the itinerary must be on the agency’s official letterhead
Travel Insurance
Mandatory travel insurance with a minimum coverage of €30,000 or $50,000 per person
Coverage should include:
Repatriation for medical reasons
Urgent medical attention or emergency hospital treatmentInsurance must cover the entire stay in the Schengen region
For applicants seeking 6-month or 1-year multiple-entry visas, a policy covering the first journey is sufficient
Proof of Sufficient Funds
If employed, provide the last 6 months' bank statement, signed and attested by a bank official
If sponsored, provide the sponsor's bank statement
All bank statements must be dated within the last week
Income Tax Returns (ITR)
If employed, submit Income Tax Return (ITR) assessments for the last 3 years
If sponsored, submit the sponsor’s ITR
Cover Letter
If employed, a covering letter on plain A4 paper
If self-employed, the covering letter should be on the business letterhead
Employment Letter
Must be on official company letterhead, stamped, and dated
Should include:
Company contact details (address, email, phone number)
Applicant’s name, position, salary, years of employment
Approval of leave/confirmation of rejoining after the trip
Signature of the employer or HR representative
No Objection Certificate (NOC)
For students/minors, an NOC from the school/institute along with a copy of the student ID card
GST Copy (For Self-Employed Applicants)
Self-employed applicants must provide a copy of their GST registration
Leave Letter
A leave approval letter from the employer, along with a copy of the employment ID card (if employed)
Biometric Requirement
First-time Schengen visa applicants must provide biometric data in person
Children under 12 years are exempt from biometric data submission
Shiva YSR will schedule an appointment for biometric data submission at the designated visa center
Biometric data submitted after November 2, 2015, remains valid for 59 months for any Schengen visa application
Some Schengen countries may request re-submission if deemed necessary

Can I submit an E-statement for my visa application?
No, the bank statement must cover the last six months and be stamped and signed on every page by the bank. The statement must be printed on A4-size paper only.
Do I need confirmed flight and accommodation bookings for my Schengen visa application?
No, confirmed bookings are not mandatory before obtaining your visa. However, we at Shiva YSR, India's first E-Visa agency, can provide the necessary hold bookings to meet visa requirements. You can start your online visa application today.
How long is the Biometrics valid?
As per Schengen regulations, biometric data is valid for 59 months and can be used for all Schengen countries. Your visa will have a VIS (Visa Information System) remark if biometrics have already been recorded. However, some countries may require fresh biometrics for every application. We recommend contacting our E-Visa Application Team before applying.
When should I apply for my Luxembourg visa?
You can apply for your Luxembourg visa up to 6 months before your travel date but no later than 15 days before departure.
I only have the last two years' ITR (Income Tax Return). Can I apply for a Schengen visa?
While ITR for the last three years is preferred, you may still apply with ITRs from the last two years if no other option is available.
If I have a valid Schengen visa on my old passport, can I travel to Luxembourg with both my old and new passports?
If you hold an active Schengen visa on your old passport, you must email the Luxembourg Embassy to confirm whether you can still use it. If validated, you may travel using both passports until the visa expires.
Is it necessary to submit the visa application in person?
Yes. Since November 2, 2015, all applicants requesting a Schengen visa must submit biometrics (fingerprints, palm prints, live photo, etc.) in person at the assigned Visa Facilitation Center (VFC), consulate, or embassy.
Is travel insurance mandatory for a Schengen visa?
Yes, travel insurance is mandatory for all 26 Schengen countries. You can purchase your policy online.
