How long is the Biometrics valid?

As per Schengen regulations, biometric data is valid for 59 months and can be used for all Schengen countries. Your visa will have a VIS (Visa Information System) remark if biometrics have already been recorded. However, some countries may require fresh biometrics for every application. We recommend contacting our E-Visa Application Team before applying.

When should I apply for my Luxembourg visa?

You can apply for your Luxembourg visa up to 6 months before your travel date but no later than 15 days before departure.

I only have the last two years' ITR (Income Tax Return). Can I apply for a Schengen visa?

While ITR for the last three years is preferred, you may still apply with ITRs from the last two years if no other option is available.

If I have a valid Schengen visa on my old passport, can I travel to Luxembourg with both my old and new passports?

If you hold an active Schengen visa on your old passport, you must email the Luxembourg Embassy to confirm whether you can still use it. If validated, you may travel using both passports until the visa expires.

Is it necessary to submit the visa application in person?

Yes. Since November 2, 2015, all applicants requesting a Schengen visa must submit biometrics (fingerprints, palm prints, live photo, etc.) in person at the assigned Visa Facilitation Center (VFC), consulate, or embassy.
