Visa processing timelines may vary as per public holidays observed in both India and your intended destination country.
1. Passport
Must be an original passport issued within the last 10 years.
Valid for at least 6 months beyond the last intended departure date from Iceland.
Must contain at least 2 blank visa pages.
Should have no alterations or handwritten amendments on the data pages.
2. Photograph
Three recent color passport-size photographs (35 mm x 45 mm, without a border).
Taken within the last 3 months.
Facial image must be between 25 mm and 35 mm (chin to crown).
Background must be plain white with a matte or semi-matte finish.
Scanned or unclear photographs will not be accepted.
3. Accommodation Proof
The applicant must provide one of the following:
Holding/Confirmed Hotel Voucher.
Cruise Confirmation Voucher.
If staying with a friend or relative, an invitation letter along with:
Invitee's ID proof, passport copy, or residence card copy.
Their financial documents (color scanned copies via email are acceptable).
4. Flight Ticket
Holding/Confirmed flight reservation (India to Iceland and return).
5. Travel Itinerary
A detailed day-wise itinerary on plain A4-size paper.
If booked through a travel agent, the itinerary must be on their official letterhead.
6. Travel Insurance
Mandatory with a minimum coverage of 30,000 Euros or 50,000 USD per person.
Must cover:
Repatriation for medical reasons.
Urgent medical attention or emergency hospital treatment.The insurance should cover the entire stay in the Schengen Area.
For 6-month or 1-year multiple-entry visas, full coverage is not required; an insurance policy covering the first journey is sufficient.
7. Proof of Sufficient Funds
A bank statement for the last 6 months, signed and attested by a bank official (if employed).
If sponsored, the sponsor's bank statement must be provided.
All bank statements must be dated within the last 1 week.
8. Income Tax Returns (ITR)
ITR assessments for the last 3 years (if employed).
If sponsored, provide the sponsor’s ITR.
9. Cover Letter
A covering letter on A4-size paper (if employed).
If self-employed, the cover letter must be on official business letterhead.
10. Employment Letter
Must be on company letterhead, stamped, and dated.
Should include:
Company contact details (address, email, telephone).
Name, position, and signature of the countersigning officer.
Applicant’s name, position, salary, years of employment, and leave approval.
11. No Objection Certificate (NOC)
For students/minors: A NOC from the school/institute, along with a copy of the student ID card.
12. GST Copy (For Self-Employed Applicants)
GST registration copy must be provided if self-employed.
13. Leave Letter (For Employed Applicants)
A leave approval letter from the employer, along with a copy of the employment ID card.
14. Biometric Data Submission
First-time Schengen visa applicants must appear in person to provide biometric data.
Children under 12 years are exempt.

Previously submitted biometric data (from after November 2, 2015) is valid for 59 months for travel to any Schengen country.
In rare cases, certain Schengen states may require biometric resubmission if necessary.
Schengen Visa Information for Iceland
Iceland is one of the 27 Schengen countries.
The Schengen Area includes the following countries:
Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Croatia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland.

If visiting multiple Schengen countries, Iceland must be:
The country where you stay the longest, or
If the duration of stay is equal in all Schengen countries, Iceland must be the first point of entry.Each applicant must submit all mandatory documents as specified in the requirements section.

Visa fees may vary due to fluctuations in the Euro exchange rate.
The visa fee is non-refundable, regardless of approval or rejection.
Processing time is indicative, and prices are subject to change.
1. Can I submit an E-statement for my visa application?
No, the bank statement must cover the last six months and be stamped and signed on every page by the bank. It should be printed on A4-size paper only.
2. Do I need to provide a confirmed flight itinerary and accommodation bookings for my Schengen visa application?

3. When should I apply for my Iceland Visa?
You can apply for an Iceland Schengen visa up to 6 months before your travel date but no later than 15 days before departure. Our Iceland visa consultants in India are here to help!
4. Is it necessary to submit the visa application in person?
Yes. Since November 2, 2015, all applicants must submit biometric data (fingerprints, palm prints, live photo, etc.) in person. This can be done at the Visa Facilitation Center (VFC) or, in some cases, at the assigned embassy or consulate.
5. Which countries are included in the Schengen visa?
A Schengen Visa is valid for travel across 27 Schengen countries, including:
Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Croatia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland.6. How long is biometric data valid for?
Biometric data remains valid for 59 months across all Schengen countries. You can check for a VIS (Visa Information System) remark on your visa. However, some countries may require new biometrics for each application. It is advisable to consult our E-Visa team before applying.
7. I only have the last two years' ITR (Income Tax Returns). Can I still apply for a Schengen visa?
While submitting ITR for the last three years is preferred, applications with two years of ITR may still be considered.
8. If I have a valid Schengen visa on my old passport, can I travel to Iceland with both my old and new passports?
If your old passport contains a valid Iceland Schengen visa, you must email the Iceland Embassy to confirm if you can travel with both passports. If approved, you can continue using the old passport until the visa expires.
9. Is travel insurance mandatory for a Schengen visa?
Yes, travel insurance is mandatory for all 27 Schengen countries. You can apply for travel insurance online today.
