Passport
Original passport issued within the last 10 years.
Valid for at least 6 months beyond the last intended departure date from Hungary.
Must contain at least two blank visa pages.
No alterations or handwritten amendments on the data pages.
Photograph
Three recent colored passport-size photographs (35mm x 45mm) taken within the last three months.
Facial image should be 25mm to 35mm from chin to crown.
Taken against a plain white background with a matte or semi-matte finish.
Scanned or unclear photographs will not be accepted.
Accommodation
Applicants must provide one of the following:
Confirmed hotel voucher or cruise confirmation.
If staying with friends/relatives:
Invitation letter from the host.
Copy of host’s passport/residence permit and financial documents (scanned copies via email are acceptable).
Flight Ticket
Confirmed flight reservation (India to Hungary and return).
Itinerary
A detailed day-wise travel itinerary on plain A4 paper.
If booked through a travel agent, the itinerary should be on their official letterhead.
Travel Insurance
Mandatory with a minimum coverage of €30,000 or $50,000 USD per person.
Should cover:
Medical emergencies, repatriation, and hospitalization.Insurance must be valid for the entire duration of stay in the Schengen area.
For 6-month or 1-year multiple-entry visas, insurance covering only the first trip is sufficient.
Proof of Sufficient Funds
Last 6 months’ bank statement, signed and attested by a bank official.
If self-sponsored, provide your own bank statement.
If sponsored, provide the sponsor’s bank statement.
Bank statements must be dated within the last week.
Income Tax Returns (ITR)
ITR for the last 3 years (for employed applicants).
If sponsored, provide the sponsor’s ITR.
Cover Letter
If employed: Personal covering letter on A4 paper.
If self-employed: Covering letter on business letterhead.
Employment Letter
Official company letterhead with:
Company address, email, and contact details.
Name, position, and signature of the authorized signatory.
Applicant’s position, salary, and duration of employment.
Approval of leave and confirmation of employment after return.
No Objection Certificate (NOC)
For students/minors: NOC from school/institute along with a copy of the student ID card.
GST Certificate (for self-employed applicants)
Self-employed applicants must provide a GST registration certificate.
Leave Letter (for employed applicants)
Leave approval letter from the employer along with a copy of the employment ID card.
Biometric Data
Mandatory for first-time Schengen visa applicants.
Children under 12 years are exempt.
Shiva YSR will schedule a biometric appointment at the designated visa center.
Previously submitted biometric data (after November 2, 2015) is valid for 59 months for Schengen travel.
Some Schengen countries may request re-submission of biometrics at their discretion.
Hungary Schengen Visa Information
Hungary is one of the 27 Schengen countries within the Schengen Area.
List of Schengen Countries:
Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Croatia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland.
Visa Application Guidelines:
If visiting multiple Schengen countries, Hungary must be the country where you stay the longest.
If the stay duration is equal in all Schengen countries, Hungary should be the first point of entry.

All mandatory documents mentioned in the requirements section must be submitted.
Additional documents may be required by the embassy or visa experts during processing.
The visa fee is non-refundable, regardless of approval or rejection.
Visa fees may vary due to fluctuations in the Euro exchange rate.

1. Can I travel to Hungary with both my old and new passports if my Schengen visa is on the old passport?
If you hold a valid Hungary Schengen visa on your old passport, you must email your concern directly to the Hungary Embassy. If validated by the embassy, you may continue using the visa on your old passport until its expiry.
2. Which countries are included in the Schengen visa?
A Schengen Visa (issued by a consulate or embassy of a Schengen State) is valid for travel to all 27 Schengen countries, including:
Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Croatia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland.3. Can I submit an e-statement for my visa application?
No, you must provide a physical bank statement for the last 6 months, stamped and signed on every page by the bank. The statement must be printed on A4-size paper.
4. Do I need confirmed flight and accommodation bookings for my Schengen visa application?
No, confirmed bookings are not mandatory before obtaining your visa. Shiva YSR can assist with the necessary hold reservations for your visa application.
5. How long is biometric data valid for Schengen visas?
Biometric data (fingerprints, palm prints, and live photo) is valid for 59 months across all Schengen countries. However, some countries may require fresh biometrics for every new application. It is advised to consult the Shiva YSR E-Visa team before applying.
6. When should I apply for my Hungarian visa?
You can apply up to 6 months before your travel date, but no later than 15 days before departure.
7. Can I apply for a Schengen visa with only two years' ITR (Income Tax Return)?
Although three years of ITR is preferred, two years may be accepted in some cases.
8. Is it necessary to submit my visa application in person?
Yes. Since November 2, 2015, all Schengen visa applicants must submit their biometric data in person at the designated Visa Facilitation Center (VFC), consulate, or embassy.
9. Is travel insurance mandatory for a Schengen visa?
Yes, travel insurance is mandatory for all 27 Schengen countries. You can apply for travel insurance online immediately.
