1. Passport
Original passport issued within the last 10 years
Valid for at least 6 months beyond the final intended departure date from Greece
Must contain at least two blank visa pages
No handwritten amendments or alterations in the data pages
2. Photograph
Three recent colored passport-size photos (35mm x 45mm, no border) taken within the last 3 months
The facial image must be between 25mm and 35mm from chin to crown
Taken against a plain white background with a matte or semi-matte finish
Scanned or unclear photographs will not be accepted
3. Accommodation Proof (Any one of the following)
Confirmed hotel booking/voucher
Cruise confirmation voucher
If staying with friends or relatives, an invitation letter along with the invitee’s ID proof, passport/residence card copy, and financial documents (colored scanned copies via email are acceptable)
4. Flight Ticket
Confirmed flight reservation for India to Greece and return journey
5. Travel Itinerary
A day-wise itinerary detailing travel plans on plain A4 paper OR, if booked through a travel agent, on their letterhead
6. Travel Insurance (Mandatory)
Minimum coverage of €30,000 or $50,000 per person
Must cover repatriation for medical reasons, urgent medical attention, or emergency medical treatment
Should be valid for the entire stay in Schengen territory
For 6-month or 1-year multiple-entry visas, full 180/365-day coverage is not required; coverage for the first trip is sufficient
7. Proof of Sufficient Funds (Any one of the following)
Last 6 months' bank statement, signed and attested by a bank official (if employed)
If sponsored, sponsor’s bank statement (dated within the last 1 week)
8. Income Tax Return (ITR)
ITR for the last 3 years (if employed)
If sponsored, sponsor’s ITR documents
9. Cover Letter
If employed: A cover letter from the applicant on A4-size paper
If self-employed: A business letterhead cover letter
10. Employment Letter (For employed applicants)
Official company letterhead, stamped and dated
Must include:
Company address, email, and contact number
Name, position, and signature of the countersigning officer
Applicant’s name, job title, salary, employment duration, and approval of leave
11. No Objection Certificate (NOC) (For students/minors)
NOC from school/institute
Copy of student ID card
12. GST Registration Copy (For self-employed applicants)
Copy of GST registration certificate
13. Leave Letter (For employed applicants)
Leave approval letter from the company
Copy of employment ID card
14. Biometric Data Submission
Mandatory for Indian citizens applying for a Schengen visa for the first time
Exemption: Children under 12 years old
Shiva YSR will arrange a biometric appointment at the designated Visa Application Center
Biometric data submitted after November 2, 2015, is valid for 59 months for travel to any Schengen country
Some Schengen countries may require re-submission in specific cases
Schengen Visa Information for Greece
Greece is one of the 27 Schengen countries.
Schengen Area Countries:
Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Croatia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland.
Visa Requirements for Multiple Schengen Countries:
If traveling to multiple Schengen countries, Greece must be the country where you spend the longest duration.
If the duration of stay is equal in all Schengen countries, then Greece must be the first port of entry.

1. Can I submit an e-statement for my visa application?
No, you must provide a physical bank statement for the last six months, stamped and signed on every page by the bank. The statement must be printed on A4-sized paper only.
2. Do I need confirmed flight and accommodation bookings for my Schengen visa application?
No, confirmed tickets and bookings are not mandatory before visa approval. Shiva YSR, India’s first E-Visa agency, can assist you with the required hold reservations for your visa application.
3. How long is biometric data valid?
Biometric data is valid for 59 months for all Schengen countries. You can check for the VIS (Visa Information System) remark on your visa issued after your first biometrics submission. However, some countries may require biometric submission each time you apply, regardless of validity or errors in the previous data. It is recommended to consult our E-Visa team before applying.
4. When should I start my Greece visa application?
You can apply for a Greece Schengen visa up to 6 months before your travel date but no later than 15 days before departure.
5. I only have ITRs for the last two years. Can I still apply for a Schengen visa?
While ITRs for the last three years are preferred, you may submit ITRs for the last two years, if necessary.
6. If I have a valid Schengen visa on my old passport, can I travel to Greece with both my old and new passports?
If your Greece visa is still valid on your old passport, you must email your concern to the Greek Embassy for confirmation. If the embassy validates it, you may continue using the old passport for travel until the visa expires.
7. Is it necessary to submit the visa application in person?
Since November 2, 2015, all Schengen visa applicants must submit their biometric data (fingerprints, palm prints, live photo, etc.) in person at either:
An assigned Visa Facilitation Center (VFC), or
The relevant embassy or consulate (depending on the country’s policy).
8. Is travel insurance mandatory for a Schengen visa?
Yes, travel insurance is mandatory for all 26 Schengen countries. You can purchase it online before submitting your application.
