Passport
Must be an original passport issued within the last 10 years
Valid for at least 6 months beyond the last intended departure date from Finland
Should have at least 2 blank visa pages
No alterations or handwritten amendments on data pages
Photograph
Three recent color passport-size photographs (35mm x 45mm) taken within the last 3 months
The facial image must be between 25mm and 35mm from chin to crown
Taken against a plain white background with a matte or semi-matte finish
Scanned or unclear photographs will not be accepted
Accommodation
Applicants must provide one of the following accommodation proofs:
Confirmed hotel booking or voucher
Cruise confirmation voucher
If staying with a friend or relative, an invitation letter, along with:
Invitee’s ID proof (passport or residence card copy)
Their financial documents (scanned copies via email are accepted)
Flight Ticket
Confirmed flight reservation (India to onward and return)
Itinerary
A day-wise itinerary outlining travel plans on A4-size paper
If booked through a travel agent, it must be on their official letterhead
Travel Insurance
Mandatory with minimum coverage of €30,000 (or $50,000 USD) per person
Must cover:
Medical repatriation
Emergency medical treatment/hospitalizationShould cover the entire stay in the Schengen area
For 6-month or 1-year multiple-entry visas, coverage for the first journey is sufficient
Proof of Sufficient Funds
Last 6 months' bank statement (signed and attested by a bank official)
If sponsored, submit the sponsor’s bank statement
All bank statements must be dated within the last week
Income Tax Returns (ITR)
Last 3 years' Income Tax Return (ITR) assessment if employed
If sponsored, the sponsor’s ITR should be provided
Cover Letter
A cover letter on A4-size paper if employed
If self-employed, it must be on official business letterhead
Employment Letter
Official employment letter on company letterhead (stamped and dated)
Should include:
Company contact details (address, email, phone)
Name, position, and signature of the authorized officer
Applicant’s name, position, salary, employment duration, and leave approval
No Objection Certificate (NOC)
If a student/minor, a NOC from the school/institute along with a copy of the school ID card
GST Copy (For Self-Employed Applicants)
GST registration certificate is required
Leave Letter (For Employed Applicants)
Leave approval letter from the employer along with a copy of the Employment ID Card
Biometric Data
First-time Schengen visa applicants must appear in person to provide biometric data
Children under 12 years are exempt

Previously submitted biometric data (after November 2, 2015) remains valid for 59 months
Some Schengen countries may require re-submission of biometrics under specific circumstances
Finland Schengen Visa Information
Finland is one of the 27 Schengen countries.
The Schengen Area includes: Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Croatia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland.
Indian passport holders require a valid visa to enter Finland.
Visa Application Guidelines
If visiting multiple Schengen countries, Finland must be:
The country where you stay the longest, OR
If the stay duration is the same in all Schengen countries, Finland must be the first port of entry.Each applicant must submit all mandatory documents as per the requirement section.

Can I submit an E-statement for my visa application?
No, the bank statement must cover the last six months and be stamped and signed on every page by the bank. The statement must also be printed on A4-sized paper.
Is it necessary to submit the visa application in person?
Yes. Since November 2, 2015, all Schengen visa applicants must submit biometric data (fingerprints, palm prints, live photo, etc.) in person. This can be done at the assigned Visa Facilitation Center (VFC), consulate, or embassy, depending on the country.
Do I need confirmed flight and accommodation bookings for my Schengen visa application?
No, confirmed bookings are not mandatory before obtaining a visa. However, Shiva YSR can provide holding reservations for your application. You can start your online visa application today.
How long is my biometric data valid?
Biometric data is valid for 59 months for all Schengen countries. You can check the VIS (Visa Information System) remark on your visa issued after your first biometric submission. However, some countries may require you to submit biometrics for every application, regardless of its validity. It’s best to confirm with our E-Visa team before applying.
When should I apply for a Finland visa online?
You can apply up to 6 months before your travel date but no later than 15 days before departure.
I only have the last two years’ ITR (Income Tax Return). Can I still apply for a Schengen visa?
While ITRs for the last three years are preferred, providing ITRs for two years may still be accepted.
I have a valid Schengen visa on my old passport. Can I travel to Finland with both my old and new passports?
If your old passport contains a valid Finland visa, you must email the Finland Embassy to confirm its validity. If approved, you can travel with both passports until the visa expires.
Is travel insurance mandatory for a Schengen visa?
Yes, travel insurance is mandatory for all 26 Schengen countries. You can apply for travel insurance online.
