Passport Requirements
Original passport issued within the last 10 years
Must be valid for at least 6 months beyond the last intended departure from the Czech Republic
Should have at least two blank visa pages
No alterations or handwritten amendments on the data pages
Photograph Requirements
Three recent colored passport-size photographs (35mm x 45mm, no border) taken within the last 3 months
Facial image must measure between 25mm and 35mm from chin to crown
Taken against a plain white background with a matte or semi-matte finish
Scanned or unclear photographs will not be accepted
Accommodation Proof
Applicants must provide one of the following:
A confirmed hotel booking
A cruise confirmation voucher
If staying with a friend or relative, an invitation letter along with the invitee’s ID proof, passport or residence card copy, and financial documents (colored scanned copies via email are acceptable)
Flight Ticket Requirement
A confirmed flight reservation for both onward and return journeys
Itinerary Submission
A detailed day-by-day itinerary on plain A4 paper
If booked through a travel agent, the itinerary should be on the agent’s letterhead
Travel Insurance
Mandatory coverage of at least €30,000 or $50,000 per person
Must cover expenses such as medical repatriation, emergency medical care, and hospital treatment
Insurance must be valid for the entire Schengen stay
Applicants applying for a 6-month or 1-year multiple-entry visa only need to provide coverage for the first trip
Proof of Sufficient Funds
Employed applicants must provide a bank statement from the last 6 months, signed and attested by a bank official
If sponsored, the sponsor’s bank statement should be provided
All bank statements must be dated within the last week
Income Tax Returns (ITR)
Employed applicants must submit income tax return assessments for the last 3 years
If sponsored, the sponsor’s income tax returns should be provided
Cover Letter
Employed applicants: Cover letter on A4-sized paper
Self-employed applicants: Cover letter on business letterhead
Employment Letter
Issued on company letterhead, stamped, and dated
Must include company contact details (address, email, phone number) and the name, position, and signature of the issuing officer
Should state the applicant’s name, position, salary, years of employment, and approval of leave/confirmation of position upon return
No Objection Certificate (NOC)
Students/minors must submit an NOC from their school or institute along with a copy of their ID card
GST Certificate (For Self-Employed Applicants)
Self-employed applicants must provide a copy of their GST registration certificate
Leave Letter (For Employed Applicants)
Leave approval letter from the employer along with a copy of the applicant’s employment ID card
Biometric Requirements
Indian citizens applying for a Schengen visa for the first time must appear in person for biometric data submission
Children under 12 years are exempt from biometric submission
Previously submitted biometric data (after November 2, 2015) remains valid for 59 months for travel to any Schengen country
In some cases, authorities may request biometric data re-submission if necessary
Schengen Visa Guidelines for the Czech Republic
The Czech Republic is one of the 27 countries in the Schengen Area.

Visa Application Rules:
If visiting multiple Schengen countries, the Czech Republic should either be the country where you will stay the longest or the first country of entry if the duration of stay in each Schengen country is the same.

Can I submit an e-statement for my visa application?
No, the bank statement must cover the last six months and be stamped and signed on every page by the bank. Additionally, the statement should be printed on A4-size paper.
Do I need confirmed flight and accommodation bookings for my Schengen visa application?

How long is biometric data valid for a Schengen visa?
Biometric data is valid for 59 months across all Schengen countries, as per Schengen authority regulations. You can check for the VIS (Visa Information System) remark on your visa issued after your first biometrics submission. However, some countries may require biometric re-submission with every application. We recommend contacting our E-Visa Application team before applying.
When should I apply for my Czech Republic visa?
You can apply up to six months before your travel date but no later than 15 days before departure.
I only have the last two years’ ITR. Can I still apply for a Schengen visa?
While submitting ITRs for the last three years is preferred, a two-year ITR may still be accepted.
If I have a valid Schengen visa on my old passport, can I still travel to the Czech Republic?
If your previous passport contains a valid Czech Republic visa, you must email the Czech Embassy for verification. If validated, you can travel with both your old and new passports until the visa expires.
Is it necessary to submit my visa application in person?
Yes. Since November 2, 2015, all Schengen visa applicants must provide biometric data (fingerprints, palm print, live photo, etc.) in person. This must be done at the assigned Visa Facilitation Center (VFC), consulate, or embassy, depending on the country’s specific requirements.
